Independent of everyone in the room
Not an employer and not a menopause provider. Summ Base takes no commission from the services it measures or signposts, which is what makes what it reports about them worth reading.
About
Many organisations already provide menopause support. The harder question is whether it fits the reality of different jobs. Summ Base asks women about their symptoms privately, matches them to the support their organisation already provides, and lets them rate it and say what is missing. Organisations see only anonymous patterns.
What guides it
Privacy before insight.
Needs before labels.
Patterns before people.
Evidence before assumptions.
Action before dashboards.
Why it exists
Organisations cannot improve what they cannot see. Many women understandably choose not to disclose a health issue at work, so organisations often have little view of where support is hard to find or does not fit the job. The effect still shows up: lost time, workarounds, and support that goes unused because people did not know it existed or could not use it in their role. Summ Base gives women a private place to explore what might help, and gives the organisation the anonymous patterns it needs to improve support.
What Summ Base will not do
01
Not an employer and not a menopause provider. Summ Base takes no commission from the services it measures or signposts, which is what makes what it reports about them worth reading.
02
Identity and answers live in separate databases that no query joins. It is not a policy anyone has to keep. It is an architecture.
03
Women keep their account if their employer stops paying, and keep it if it never started. It moves with them to the next job.
04
Summ Base does not diagnose, treat or refer, and it is not a wellbeing platform with a menopause tab. It asks what gets in the way at work, and returns totals nobody can trace.
Where it is up to
Summ Base works end to end today on sample data. The next step is working with a small number of organisations.
Research
Summ Base has no data of its own yet. Every figure on this site is published research. Nothing comparable exists for the UK.
The privacy rules that make it safe are also what make it useful: the same questions each time, thresholds applied before anything is shown, and no route back to an individual at any point. Summ Base would work with a research partner on that, and any enquiry reaches the founder directly.
Who operates it
A company registered in England and Wales, based in Stockport, registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under number C1910715. Consultblue is the data controller for everything Summ Base holds.
Summ Base runs on Cloudflare today, with every database created in the European Union jurisdiction, and holds no live data. Before an organisation goes live, where its data is held is agreed with it in writing and named in a data protection impact assessment completed together.
